Bold Goals Education is excited to announce an upcoming workshop for schools and school systems in our five-county region. The focus of the workshop will be on practical tools for, and local success stories about, improving school attendance and reducing chronic absenteeism. The workshop will be held from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, January 25th at United Way of Central Alabama.
Chronic absenteeism, even in the early grades, can have a significant effect on academic outcomes. Now, through the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA), attendance and chronic absenteeism are becoming part of the accountability measures for schools and school systems.
The great news is that we have proven methods for addressing these issues that we have tested right here in Central Alabama, and we can share them with you for free. So mark January 25th on your calendar, and watch for registration information for this important event coming soon.
