Super Input from School Superintendents

This April, Bold Goals Education, an arm of the Bold Goals Coalition of Central Alabama, invited all of the region’s school superintendents to lunch at United Way of Central Alabama for an information exchange and discussion about how the Coalition can best support our school systems.

We shared our recent successes in school mental health, workforce development, FAFSA completion and chronic absenteeism, along with our vision and plans for the future of these initiatives. Most importantly, we encouraged and gathered invaluable feedback from the superintendents and staffs of 18 different school systems. Their input will be instrumental going forward as we continue to focus on pivotal issues and strive to raise the bar on education in our five-county area.

We were especially pleased to offer the opportunity for dialogue with Dr. Jeff Langham from the Alabama State Department of Education and Nick Moore, the Governor’s Education Policy Advisor.

There are more than 160,000 students in Central Alabama’s public schools. The Bold Goals Coalition is committed to bringing organizations and individuals together in a dynamic way to collaborate on a common agenda and measures of success designed to guide those students toward their full potential.
