Thanks to your ongoing commitment and hard work over the summer, we now have three education action networks chartered! These networks are establishing regular meeting schedules to keep our work moving forward. Please take a look at the upcoming meetings for all three networks below and plan to participate in the meetings that best fit your capabilities and interests:
- Early Learning Action Network (monthly): This network now meets monthly in conjunction with the standing meeting of the Jefferson County Children’s Policy Council’s Early Care and Education Workgroup. These meetings are typically on the first Wednesday of each month. The next meeting will be Wednesday, October 7th at 9:30am at the Birmingham Museum of Art.
- 3rd Grade Reading Action Network (every 6 weeks): The next two meetings of this network will be Wednesday, September 23rd from 1:00-3:00pm and Tuesday, November 10th from 1:00-2:30pm at Oliver Elementary School.
- Post-Secondary Retention/Completion Action Network (every 6 weeks): The next two meetings of this network will be Thursday, September 24th from 1:00-3:00pm and Thursday, Nov. 12th from 1:00pm-3:00pm at the United Way of Central Alabama.
